MEET THE INTERN: Shannon Lawrence

Over the past two weeks, Flowfold has had the pleasure of working with Shannon Lawrence, a senior at Gorham High School. She has been helping with all things production, packaging, and marketing. This week Shannon is taking over the Flowfold blog and sharing her experience interning at Flowfold. Thank you for all your great work and contributions Shannon! We wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors from college and beyond!  - The Team at Flowfold.

I worked at Flowfold last summer, assembling face shields for the pandemic and I wanted to come back for my senior internship to learn more about Flowfold’s process for their regular products. I also have a curiosity about sustainability in the manufacturing/business industry and know that it is something prioritized at Flowfold.

It has been so cool to be back at Flowfold, experiencing different aspects of the process. At the beginning of my internship, I worked in packaging. I helped do quality checks and put tags on products. Then, I switched over to marketing. I researched other sustainable brands to gather ideas on their marketing tactics and generated some ideas for Flowfold to implement on their website and Instagram. It was interesting to learn about the different sustainable materials used at Flowfold and talk about the ways that information could be displayed to customers. We focused a lot on incorporating more information about Flowfold’s sustainability into their marketing because clearly much of their materials and process is done sustainably and I feel it would be beneficial to present this information to customers on the website.

I helped put together an Instagram story displaying the process of making a fanny pack, from cutting the materials to shipment. I loved getting to see the step-by-step process that it takes to create a product and get it out to customers. Through this process, I also got to experience how close-knit the Flowfold team is and how much teamwork goes into creating products and making the company run smoothly. Along with the fanny pack project, I helped with a few more projects for social media.

I have had a wonderful experience getting to know the team here at Flowfold and seeing how the company is run smoothly to ensure customers are getting quality products. The atmosphere is great and the team is clearly one big family.
